YWCA Glendale and Pasadena Partnership

Although several of our Arts Education programs are currently paused due to COVID-19, we have been thrilled to partner with the YWCA Glendale and Pasadena’s Girls Circle After School Program. Over 12 weeks, our lead teaching artists Kwana Martinez, Ann Noble, and Kelsey Siepser have been providing a one-hour online class focusing on theater and poetry. Using various prompts that include poems by female writers, word groups, and images, the young women participating in the program (who are between the ages of 12 and 15) have been writing and sharing their own stories. The program will culminate in an original play, created and performed by the 15 young women based on their own poetry and personal stories in May.

Thank you to the YWCA Glendale for partnering with us and allowing us to share our work with these students! To learn more about their program, visit https://www.glendaleywca.org/girlscircle/
