Dear friends,
Last week, we released Season Three of The Zip Code Plays: Los Angeles with brand-new plays diving into the history of Glendale, Burbank, Lynwood, Griffith Park, Frogtown, and Hollywood!
Antaeus launched this local storytelling project back in fall 2020, and here we are, one year later with a collection of 18 original plays, written by a diverse group of 15 Los Angeles-based playwrights, and the entire project has been completely free for audiences around the world to enjoy. We’ve partnered with a variety of local arts and culture organizations like the Los Angeles Public Library and glendaleOUT for 9 virtual Salons exploring the plays and the neighborhoods that inspired them. And more than 5,000 visitors have seen Los Angeles history for themselves through The Zip Code Plays Tour, our interactive guide to historical sites, cultural landmarks, and small businesses across the city!
Check out this highlight reel from our Actor-led video tours, and visit our tour website to explore these Zip Codes for yourself!
The Zip Code Plays have helped us connect us with local organizations, small businesses, and listeners throughout Los Angeles and around the world! Our amazing community of people like you have helped this project reach an astounding audience of over 74,000 (and counting)!
Through The Zip Code Plays, Antaeus has been proud to support our artists, offer accessible and meaningful entertainment for our audiences, and host compelling theatrical conversations. If projects like this are meaningful to you, please consider donating to Antaeus before the end of 2021 to help support our work.
Thank you for being part of our community! Stay tuned for more highlights from our Annual Report in the upcoming weeks!
