Four Days Left!

Our 2019/20 Season hasn’t gone the way we planned, but thanks to the support of this community, Antaeus is still going strong and finding new ways to fulfill our mission and do the work we love. We’re unbelievably grateful to everyone who’s supported us through this crisis.

If you haven’t donated yet, you still have four days left before our fiscal year comes to a close on Monday, August 31. The gifts we receive today will lay the foundation for our continuing work in the uncertain times to come. So, we hope you’ll consider making a one-time or recurring gift before the end of the month.

If you need a little more inspiration, we invite you to join us in celebrating everything we achieved this past year. In case you missed our other year-end emails, here’s an overview of what we’ve been up to at Antaeus!

• This past 2019/20 Season, we bolstered our work with the Playwrights Lab, produced three critically and audience acclaimed plays on our stage, and received three Drama Critics Circle Awards for our 2018/19 production of The Caucasian Chalk Circle.
• Even with live performances paused, our commitment to the Antaeus mission remains strong! After we temporarily closed our theater building in March, our team converted as much educational and artistic programming as we could to the digital arena. Our Academy students continued Spring and Summer classes through Zoom, and Lab members hosted their meetings online to workshop and develop new work.
• Innovative programming was born from the circumstances of the shutdown. Shakespeare enthusiasts from all over the world tuned in to our online Masterclasses this spring. And this November, you’ll be able to explore the diverse neighborhoods of Los Angeles through The Zip Code Plays. Developed as part of Antaeus’s New Classics Initiative (NCI), this series will feature original radio plays from six of our Playwrights Lab members and will be FREE to the public.

We’ll have more announcements to share about upcoming projects and programs throughout 2020/21!
