30th Anniversary Poster: Cat on a Hot Tin Roof

This new poster by Ramin Afshari celebrates Cat On A Hot Tin Roof, which we revived in 2017 as the very first production in our "new home" in Glendale.

Filled to the brim with painful secrets and desperate longings, Tennessee Williams’ masterwork is the story of a family breaking down. With iconic roles and beautiful poetry, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof is a sexy, smoldering descent into a world choking on mendacity.

Remembering: Cat on a Hot Tin Roof

LA Times Critic’s Choice, Ovation-recommended
  • “One of the finest productions now playing around town … You may have seen Cat On A Hot Tin Roof before, but you’ve probably never seen it staged with the uniform power and punch it is given by Antaeus Theatre Company.” —Steven Stanley, Stage Scene LA
  • “Tremendously stylish … dynamic … powerful … an artful production” —Paul Birchall, Stage Raw
  • “Ambitious, sexy … This play is an American classic for a reason, and it is in extremely capable hands with Antaeus” —Erin Conley, On Stage and Screen
  • “This Tennessee Williams masterwork, filled with iconic roles and beautiful poetry, is the perfect play to begin our residency in Glendale. Sexy, smoldering and full of mendacity, it’s a true American classic.” —Antaeus 2017 Co-Artistic Directors Bill Brochtrup, Rob Nagle and John Sloan

Creating the Poster:

In this piece, I intended to showcase the complex dynamics of the characters’ conflicted relationship. The goal was to demonstrate Brick’s control and power over Maggie’s life and how she falls under his shadows, while also displaying the stubborn Maggie as someone who stands her ground and who would do anything to win back Brick’s love.
