Broadway veteran (Henry IV, The Audience, Waitress, To Kill A Mockingbird, Camelot) and noted Shakespearean actor/scholar/teacher Dakin Matthews (Co-Founder of Antaeus Theatre Company) will bring his acclaimed Shakespeare Masterclass “Transmitting Shakespeare” (as featured in the New York Times, 22 July 2023) back to Antaeus on March 2-3, 2024.

The class will be held in the Kiki and David Gindler Performing Arts Center. There will be two four-hour sessions (10am -12pm and 1pm – 3pm) on Saturday, March 2, 2024 and Sunday, March 3, 2024. Students are expected to attend both days; enrollment is limited to 16.

The classes will be a combination of lecture/demonstrations by Mr. Matthews and work on selected monologues and soliloquies with the enrollees. Those who wish to be considered for a monologue session must be off book and must bring at least fifteen copies of the text to be distributed to the class. Enrollment does not guarantee that your monologue will be chosen, but every effort will be made to give as many students a chance as time permits.
