Why is Shakespeare so bloody hard? And why does it make many actors so nervous to work on it? I think one of the reasons is that we hold the work up on such a high pedestal that most of us feel inadequate when we even attempt to approach it. Add to that the strong (and perhaps sometimes misleading) opinions of so many teachers of Shakespeare, and no wonder actors feel overwhelmed. Well… this fall, let’s do something different. Let’s dig in and get messy with this work. Let’s find our own ways in that deeply personalize it for us. And let’s honor the Bard of Avon by demystifying the process of exploring the treasures he left for all of us.

Please note this class will be taking place entirely online.
